Papaya

Papaya (Carica papaya) is a fast-growing, short-lived tropical, herbaceous plant known for its large, melon-like, nutrient-dense fruits. The fruit features thin skin that turns from green to yellow-orange, soft, sweet yellow-to-red flesh, and a central cavity filled with small, black, peppery seeds. It is rich in vitamins A and C, and contains the enzyme papain.
